Canada believes in keeping families together. The Family Sponsorship Program allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor close family members to become permanent residents, helping them build a future together in Canada.
✅ Who Can You Sponsor?
As a Canadian citizen or PR holder, you may be eligible to sponsor:
Spouse, common-law or conjugal partner
Dependent children (biological or adopted)
Parents and grandparents
In certain cases, orphaned siblings, nieces, nephews, or grandchildren
📋 Eligibility for Sponsors:
Must be 18 years or older
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Must demonstrate ability to financially support the sponsored person
Must not be in default of previous sponsorship undertakings or immigration loans
For parents/grandparents: meet minimum income threshold and sign a 20-year undertaking
