Work in Canada Without the LMIA Process

Not all foreign workers require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to obtain a Canadian work permit. Under certain programs and international agreements, LMIA-exempt work permits allow individuals to work in Canada without an employer needing to prove a labor shortage.

You must apply for a Study Permit if:

  • You’ve received a Letter of Acceptance from a Canadian DLI

  • You plan to study in Canada for more than 6 months

  • You can prove sufficient financial support for tuition, living expenses, and return travel

  • You meet health and character requirements

📋 Required Documents:

  • Valid passport or travel document

  • Letter of Acceptance from a Canadian DLI

  • Proof of funds (bank statements, GIC, scholarships, etc.)

  • Statement of Purpose (SOP) explaining study plans

  • Medical exam (if required) and police clearance

  • Passport-size photographs

  • Language proficiency test results (IELTS, TOEFL – if applicable)
