A Visitor Visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), allows foreign nationals to enter Canada temporarily for tourism, family visits, or short-term business activities. A Visitor Record, on the other hand, is a document that extends or changes the conditions of your stay once you’re already inside Canada.

Who Needs It?
You need a TRV if:

  • You are from a visa-required country

  • You want to visit Canada for up to 6 months

Key Features:

  • Single or multiple-entry visa

  • Does not permit working or studying

  • Must be applied for before entering Canada

Required Documents:

  • Valid passport

  • Travel itinerary (if applicable)

  • Proof of ties to your home country

  • Proof of funds

  • Letter of invitation (optional, but helpful)

📝 Key Features:

  • Can be issued for up to 3 years, depending on the case

  • Valid only for the specific purpose stated in the application

  • Does not grant permanent resident status

  • Can be extended from within Canada in certain cases
